2. Information We Collect
A. Information Provided Through Google OAuth
When you sign in with Google, we request the following OAuth scopes:
- openid – to associate your account with your Google identity
- userinfo.email – to access your primary Google email address
- userinfo.profile – to access your name and profile image
We do NOT request access to your emails, contacts, files, calendars, or any sensitive Google data.
We only use this information to:
- Create and authenticate your RootedField account
- Display your profile information (name, photo) inside the app
- Contact you for account-related notifications (never for advertising without permission)
We do not sell, share, or use your Google profile data for any purpose unrelated to providing RootedField’s functionality.
Google OAuth data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties except as required to operate our service.
B. Personal Information You Provide
- Name, email address, and password (if not using Google OAuth)
- Optional profile information (photo, preferences, settings)
- Payment information processed securely through Stripe (RootedField does not store full card numbers)
- Contact information for team members you invite
C. Orchard & Operational Data
- Tree records (species, planting dates, health, etc.)
- Activity logs (pruning, irrigation, fertilizing, spraying, harvesting)
- Photo uploads, inventory, and production data
- Location data (optional GPS coordinates, field names)
- Notes, comments, and observations
D. Device & Usage Information
- IP address
- Browser, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed and interaction logs
- Cookies and analytics identifiers
Cookies are used only for authentication, session stability, and improving user experience.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal and orchard data to:
- Authenticate and manage your user account
- Provide and improve our orchard management features
- Sync, store, and display your orchard data
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send essential system notifications
- Provide customer support
- Monitor platform stability, performance, and security

We do NOT:
- Sell your data
- Use Google OAuth information for advertising

Such as when you invite team members to your orchard.

6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View or request a copy of the personal data we hold
- Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Export: Download your orchard data in a portable format
- Withdraw Google OAuth Access: You may revoke RootedField’s OAuth permissions at any time via: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
Revoking Google access may limit your ability to sign in.
7. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services.
Upon account deletion:
- Orchard data and personal information are deleted or anonymized within 30 days
- Data required for legal, tax, or audit purposes may be retained as needed
8. Children’s Privacy
RootedField is not intended for users under age 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has used our service, contact us and we will delete the data promptly.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material updates will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of RootedField constitutes acceptance of any changes.
